VoIP hardware is developing fast - this is where you ask all those “how do I make my SIP Telephone, Adapter or Asterisk box work with my voip provider?” questions.

I seen a post over on the voipfone forums regarding sip firmware for the cisco 79xx series phones but the firmware files are no longer there. Do you still have them or do you know where i can download them from?

I have written a new how to and provided links to the SIP firmware that is required to flash the phones for use with SIP/VoIP here: http://www.ukvoipforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=186

No sorry I do not have them any more, I gave up on these phones a while ago. They may work with a SIP client when they have the SIP based firmware loaded on to them but they are far from SIP friendly. You can purchase SIP phones now for around the same price if not cheaper price of one of the Cisco 79xx!

You can find the older Cisco SPA phones on ebay cheap as chips, they are SIP based phones and a lot easier to setup, configure and use.

Sorry if this is not what you wanted to hear.

Hello Paul, Thank you for your response. Much app…

If you're experiencing issues making outgoing call…

Just leave all the files in the TFTP directory and…

VoIP on the move via wifi

Great! I have been looking for a similar solution.…
