If you opt to configure the OBi1032 via its internal web page, the following information in this guide will assist you to do just that. These instructions are based on OBi1032 software version 5.0.0 (Build: 1224); if you are running a different software version some menus and settings may be different. These instructions are also based on using the OBi1032 in its factory default configuration, which obtains a dynamic IP address automatically from your router using DHCP. For information on configuring your OBi1032 with a static IP address, please refer to the OBi1032 user manual.

In this guide we will go through configuring the OBi1032 in order to register to the sipgate.co.uk service so that you will be able to place and receive calls using your Sipgate account. Before moving forward please ensure that you have properly added the device to your network by connecting it to your router or gateway. The device should be plugged in and the status lights should be green.

We recommend that you read each step through in its entirety before performing the action indicated in the step.

Note: This device supports many advanced options. Only the basic required ones are explored in this setup guide. If you need further help with any specific issue please let us know.

STEP 1 Logging into your device
First, pick up your IP phone's handset, and dial ***. When prompted with the message Device Configuration Menu, dial 1 to retrieve the current IP address of your IP phone.

You should be provided with the current IP address of your OBi1032 IP phone. If your IP is 0.0.0.0 please make sure that your device is properly connected to your network.

Once you have acquired your IP login to your device by using http://DEVICE_IP/. If this is your first time logging into your device you may be asked to enter a username and password. By default for admin login this should be:
  • User: admin
  • Password: admin
If you do not have this information, then you will need to either factory reset the device or acquire this login information.

Once logged in you should see a screen similar to the one below:

STEP 2 Disabling Provisioning
Note: If you will be using Obihai's prvisioning servers for other services please skip this step and go onto step 3!

Since you are using this guide to configure your device we assume you do not wish to use Obihai's provisioning servers. If so please make sure to disable the provisioning information. We do this here because existing configurations may get overridden by automatic firmware updates... etc.

STEP 4 Testing your VoIP Phone's Configuration
Test 1: Call 10000 from your VoIP phone.

If 10000 is reachable your phone has successfully registered online with their systems.

Note: If your VoIP phone has automatic preselection enabled the test numbers in this guide will be unreachable.

Test 2: Call 10005 to make an echo test call.

This will test your configuration as with 10000, and also the connection's quality in both directions.

After the call is answered, please follow the prompts to record a message which will then be replayed to you.

If you have audio issues please see the following Help Centre articles about codec selection, internet connection requirements and call problems:
Test 3: To test that Touchtone dialling (e.g. for IVR menu selections) is enabled please call 10020.

When the call is answered you'll be asked to dial four numbers on your phone's dialpad.

If the numbers you've entered aren't recognised please ensure your phone is configured to send DTMF tones via RFC2833.

For Help with setting up touchtone dialling please see this Help article:
Test 4: Call your own sipgate phone number as well as dialing 55000 to check that your voicemail is setup and reachable.

If you cannot reach your sipgate voicemail, please check that you have enabled voicemail and setup a call forwarding rule to your voicemail in your Team account Settings.

STEP 5 - That's it! You can now make a phone call.
Congratulations you have succesfully setup your OBi1032 with sipgate.co.uk
