  • Add InvalidKeyHandling parameter to the Line Keys and Side Car pages with three valid options:
    - Unmodify: (Default) Do nothing; like older versions
    - Pack: Remove the key and shift all following keys in the same key group up
    - Disable: Disable the key by replacing the function with "blank." An invalid key is one that satisfies one of the following conditions:
    - A Key with Function = {blank}
    - A Key with Service = one of the SP1-SP6, but the corresponding SPn is not configured (with a blank userid in the config). Exception: Function = Speed Dial or Call Forward (so that user has a chance to change the SP service on the Phone GUI)
    - A Key with Service a mandatory field but none is specified. These include: BLF, CPM, DISPCODE, Executive Filter, Executive Assist, Hoteling, Line Monitor, Message Status, Presence Monitor, Security Class
  • BroadSoft (or Compatible) Only: Make the ACD Agent Sign On/Off option available as a soft key, with the id=acd. There are 4 ACD agent states: signedoff, available, unavailable, and wrapingup. The corresponding soft key labels and icons are configurable as soft key attributes: label, label1, label2, label4, and icon, icon1, icon2, icon3. Only one ACD soft key is supported. • Add one more level of menu on top of the current User Preferences Menu to let the user choose either the Phone Preferences (which is the same as the original User Preferences Menu) and one of the SPn Service Preferences (one for each SPn which the option to be included in this menu enabled). If none of the SPn Services Preferences are included in this menu, then selecting the Preferences item on the Main Menu takes you directly into the (Phone) Preferences Menu bypassing the newly added first level menu. By default all the SPn Service Preferences Menu are disabled, so the default behavior is the same as previous versions. For features that have a phone version and a per SPn service version, such as DND, BCI (Block Caller ID), BAC (Block Anonymous Call), CFA (Call Forward All), CFB (Call Forward Busy), CFNA (Call Forward No Answer), can be included under the Phone Preferences Menu and also under the Per SPn Service Preferences Menu to configure the per phone version and per SPn Service version, respectively. Features that have a phone version only, such as DNR (Do Not Ring), CW (Call Waiting), PG1/2(Page Group 1/2), can only be included under the Phone Preferences Menu.

Items specified in the Preferences menu can be shown at the top level or under a group thus defined, and can be repeated in one or more groups. The general syntax that can be used in PreferencsMenu1 – PreferencesMenu6 parameters is: Group Name{item,item,...},item,item,... Items inside {} are shown on the screen under the corresponding sub-menu with the given Group Name.
  • Improve the real-estate utilization of the phone web.
  • Support in the RingItem parameter the $ccinfo macro that expands into the Call Center or Diversion data associated with an incoming call.
  • Show “Disp Code” soft key in ACD Agent menu for the convenience of entering a call disposition code.
Bug Fixes:
  • Cannot recognize the downloaded audio file as MP3 from the filename extension if the HTTP request has been redirected originally from a page with a different filename extension (such as .php) to the MP3 file (with .mp3 extension).
  • On the User Preferences menu, it shows the Default Ringtone name that has been macro expanded. It should only show the original name as provisioned without macro expansion.
  • The phone cannot perform macro expansion (e.g. $OBN) in the parameter (User Preferences) BackgroundPicture.
  • Change the phone Background picture on the User Preferences menu to an internally stored picture does not automatically refresh the screen.
  • Obihai Phone APP: Phone sometimes skips processing of SoftKey URL for the current APP if the app was launched by executing a URL in the previous APP.
  • Obihai Phone APP: Phone is not handling the exit="yes" attribute in a URL correctly on receiving a response after a Submit operation.
  • Speed Dial number syntax such as this [*96]2001 cannot process *96 properly when the user digit map contains a rule such as *xx.
  • Speed Dial number syntax such as this [*96] does not trigger dial tone after the star code has been processed.
  • When a service (such as OBiTALK or SP1) has the parameter MaxSessions = 0, it should not be shown under the "Lines" soft key option on the Home Screen.
  • Subscription dialog does not reject NOTIFY requests with stale CSEQ numbers.
  • The phone does not handle BLF/XML syntax error gracefully and may crash if the dialog XML is truncated.
  • Cannot handle extra spaces before a “boundary” parameter in a Content-Type header. This may break BLF operation when the phone is behind an SBC that adds extra spaces as described.
  • Obihai Phone App: Phone does not restart screen-saver and auto-home count down when an XML APP is started by a push (via ObihaiIPPhoneExecute in a SIP/NOTIFY for example).
  • Obihai Phone App: Phone does not wake up from screen-saver (or prompt for the screen-saver unlock password if one is set and enabled) when an XML APP is started by a push (via ObihaiIPPhoneExecute in a SIP/NOTIFY for example).
  • Text displaying on GUI sometimes appear animated due to auto text scaling multiple times.
  • The phone does not consider any 2xx HTTP Response other than 200 as a successful response.
  • BroadSoft Only: Should not show any bogus presence icon in BroadWorks Call Logs and Directories when presence does not apply to that entry.
  • BroadSoft and MetaSwitch Only: When feature sync subscription fails, a feature key with the DND feature assigned should not show an orange LED if the feature is the version provided locally by the phone instead of the service provider being subscribed with.
  • The phone should not show “SPn:” as the call forward number on the Preferences Menu if the forwarding number is not set. It should just show blank.
  • Press and hold a Call Forward key may not pop up the call forward setup GUI.
  • One way audio under some cross-service call transfer scenarios.
  • The phone may not use the proper window size to display a message when the text to display contains multi-byte UTF-8 characters.
  • The phone does not auto-refresh after adding an entry into the BroadSoft personal directory.
  • Quickly entering the first two digits to invoke on-hook dialing may result in losing of the 2nd digit loss.
  • Text auto-wrap does not work correctly for multi-byte UTF-8 text.
  • BroadSoft directories do not work on SP2-SP5 service.
  • With IP address that is statically assigned to the phone, configuring a hostname instead of an IP address as the syslog server on the phone may result in a reboot loop.
  • When using WiFi with significant jitter, there are sometimes repeated speech segments.
  • On-hook dialing cannot match Sn syntax at the end of digit map rules like off-hook dialing can.
  • The phone should not show “Call Failed” on the screen when the call is ended normally by the peer. It should just show “Call Ended”.
  • Occasional reboot problem due to race conditions under some special blind transfer scenario.
  • When MWI notify has not been received yet, the phone should follow the MessageWaiting status stored in flash to indicate the last known message status under the Messages item of the Main Menu.
  • The phone should allow ACD Agent to select Unavailable status without entering any unavailable reason code.
  • Phone should show new/old messages as -/- when first MWI notify has not been received yet, or the new/old values are not available from the server.
  • On-hook dialing of a number that is longer than 4 digit blocks subsequent on-hook dialing of any *xx internal star code (to invoke Intercom for example).
  • On-hook dialing with an exact digit map match reported as an invalid number.
  • When a call through OBiLine is on hold while another call is ongoing, it is as if the OBiLine is in conference.
  • Phone web page shows status for two FXO Lines although only one OBiLINE device is supported.
  • The phone should wake up automatically from screen saver when an Intercom call is autoanswered. When the phone tries to unlock screen saver for an incoming call, the user may not be able to enter the wake-up passcode.

  • Improve robustness in handling firmware upgrade over a very noisy network connection.
Bug Fixes:
  • Planned phone reboots, triggered by configuration changes via provisioning or firmware update, have no reboot reason code logged to the SYSLOG server.
  • Resume, then quickly Hold on the same call, in succession, may result in unexpected termination of the call. This has been observed when the user presses the Resume softkey quickly followed by the Transfer soft key when the two soft keys are placed on the same soft key position.
  • During an attended call transfer operation when the phone is calling the transfer target, if CallRemovalDelayOnPeerEndCall parameter is not 0, the phone still presents the Transfer. Now option to the user after the transferee hangs up, but the call has not been removed from the phone yet. In that scenario, the phone can reboot with no reason, if the user presses the Transfer. Now soft key.
  • When the user enters a wrong passcode to unlock the screen saver, the phone does not pop up an error message on the screen.
  • Last Name and First Name fields are not saved when changed from the built-in Phone Book application.
  • The SYSLOG Tag parameter does not apply to SIP Messages.
  • Certain RTCP packet formats are misinterpreted by the phone and can cause a reboot with no reason. Note that this is not very common but has been observed a few times in the field.
  • Turning on/off a connected Bluetooth headset quickly many times in sequence can cause the phone to reboot with no reason. Certain Bluetooth headset model with a low battery may exhibit this symptom.
Requesting phone status from OBiTALK portal very rapidly multiple times during a call can cause the phone to reboot with no reason.
  • When the OPENVPN client is enabled, the phone will schedule a reboot with reason 18 (for WAN IP Change) at the mid-point of the current DHCP lease time even when there is no IP address change. Note that if there is indeed an IP address change upon DHCP renewal, this auto-reboot with reason 18 is normal.
  • In the middle of a call using a BT headset, disconnect and then reconnect the headset results in a loss of audio.
  • The “Forget Bluetooth Device” function periodically fails to work.
  • Allow the Number field in Caller ID display during Ringing to show a complete E164 number, such as: +14083331234.
  • Pair 1062 with a smart phone. After a power cycle, answer an incoming call to the smart phone on the 1062. There will be a loud noise burst lasting around 0.8 seconds. This only happens the first time after a power cycle.
Cannot perform on-hook dialing right after blind-transferring a call, until on/off hook once or turn on/off speakerphone or headset once.

Firmware 5.0.7 (Build: 4489)
August 17, 2017

Features and Enhancements:
  • Added support for press and hold 0 key to enter a “+” digit for all input boxes
  • Added support to validate firmware image when it is being downloaded. Will abort firmware loading if it is the same version as the running one.

  • Added support for max-count=value attribute in an HTTP URL parameter. This can be used to limit the expansion value of $count, which is the number of refreshes of this URL. E.g. http://xyz.com/picture-name-$count.png,max-count=4. Here, the $count can be 1, 2, 3, 4 and then the next refresh would have the $count back to 1.
  • Added support for nobeep in Inbound Call Route, e.g. ph(autoans;nobeep). When nobeep is included in the InboundCallRoute parameters, auto-answered incoming calls (e.g. paging) will not play a beep. By default, beeps are played as specified by the IncomingPageAlertTone parameter.
  • Added support for Digital Signature Trust Co. Root CA
  • Added general support for mute and hook buttons for USB headsets and USB speakers. For headsets that comply with the USB HID specification, the buttons on the headsets and on the OBi1000 IP Phones are synchronized and can be used interchangeably.
  • Added new parameter: PreferredAudioDevice (under Phone Settings, Page Group) to choose among Speaker, Headset or System to answer an incoming call. By default, its System (i.e. the audio device used in the latest call).
  • Added new parameter: PageTimeout (under Phone Settings, Page Group) in seconds to set automatic timeout to hang-up the group page. By default, its 0 seconds.
Bug Fixes:
  • When on-hook dialing is initiated, hold pressing a digit on the phone for more than 1 second would register an extra digit upon releasing the key.
  • Page Group RTCPTxInterval parameter does not take effect when its expected.
  • Limited the Page Group RTCPTxInterval to a minimum of 1000 (in ms).
  • Before an incoming call is answered and another call comes in, the ringer volume can increase.
  • Call Forward (all) LEDs and soft keys should not indicate Call Forward (all) as enabled if the call forward number is not designated.
  • Configuring the time or date format from the phone GUI’s Preferences menu may cause the phone to reboot while screen saver with a time/date display is on.
  • Changing the time format from the phone GUI from the am/pm time format to another one may cause the letter “m” to partially get covered.
  • Default phone book picture should be an empty string.
  • While editing a Speed Dial key, the phone does not allow user to press another Speed Dial key.
  • (OBiTALK Service only) When an OBi is on a connected call, another OBi attempting to initiate a Directed Call Pickup will make an OBiTALK call instead.
  • When auto prefix is enabled on the SIP Service, phone should not auto prefix with _sip._xxx. when resolving STUN server for SIP service.
  • When a TCP connection is disconnected on the phone right after rejecting a SIP REGISTER, the phone will quickly retry the registration, in turn causing a rapid firing of REGISTER messages.
  • Customized Line Keys do not have background image.
  • Custom fonts loaded via "Phone Customization Data Package" cannot be executed.
  • When using SIP over TCP/TLS, the phone may reply to an incoming INVITE after a long delay.
  • Ringing and/or Call Waiting tones do not time out based on certain cadence setting.
  • When Ringing and/or Call Waiting tones time out, incoming calls should be rejected and disappear from the screen.
  • Some customized Line Keys do not show the text fields correctly (e.g. Speed Dial)
  • When sending SIP response over TCP/TLS, the rport and received parameters inserted by the phone in the top-most CIA header is incorrect.
  • When using SIP over TCP/TLS, the SendTo and RxFrom line in the SYSLOG messages may show a wrong peer address.
  • During a connected call, the Speakerphone soft key would show up where inappropriate.
  • "Add to Conf" does not execute function if the internal MOH is enabled.
  • Bad audio would exhibit (only with USB headsets) during a 3-way conference call with OPUS.
  • WiFi 802.11x does not function correctly in TTLS_MSCHAPv2 and PEAP_MSCHAPv2 mode.
  • (For OBi1062 model only) When multiple programmable keys blink rapidly at the same time, the phone would experience a decrease in CPU performance e.g. audio breaking during calls.
  • The anonymous identity field in WiFi 802.11x authentication request are sometimes unacceptable by the destination server.
  • Sending SIP/Publish for MOS Score reporting may cause the phone to crash if the server challenges the request.
  • Some information displayed from Ringing Call Items is not consistent with Call Screen and Ring Screen. E.g. diversion information is not available in Call Screen.
