I was just clicking on a link in a thread here in the forum and the link opened in the same window. I thought it would be convenient for links to open in a new window so that we keep the original one open?

Hey @Sunflogun you can always open a link on a new window if you press and hold Ctrl when you click the link. Or clicking with the middle button on your mouse.

From the point of view of a website owner for me it only make sense to make links open on a new window if I'm linking to an external site. All internal links I set them to open in the same window. But as a user I always open links on a new window :)

Links open in the same window for a couple of reasons, but one of the most important ones was the goal to achieve XHTML 1.0 Strict-validation for the whole board.
