If it's about VoIP, SIP or Internet Telephony but it doesn't seem to fit anywhere else, post it here.

Hi, my company is looking to replace their phone system with a VoIP PBX but we are getting totally lost with where to start as there are so many options out there and any help would be hugely appreciated ...

We are an IT company and we offer support.
We need 2 numbers a UK and a Spanish number.
When someone rings those numbers it should ring one user (our front desk) on a mobile phone and if not answered within a time (the receptionist is having lunch etc) it should ring on 3 other computers / mobile apps.
Once we pick up the call we should then be able to transfer that call to any of the users.
We need an answerphone for outside office hours.

Those are the only must have features.

Ideally we'd also be able to make cheap international calls too so we can replace Skype.

We don't really use the phone much but need it so a low monthly rate or pay as you go system would be best.

Can anyone recommend a system that would do this? Any help would be hugely appreciated!

I recommend Voipfone! They offer a pay go service which is totally contract free.

Voipfone offer UK (£2 +VAT per month) and Spanish numbers (£3 +VAT per month). Additionally, extensions are charged at £1 (+VAT) per month and by the sounds of things, you will need four. You will also need to install the Voipfone softphone on the mobile phone that the front desk is using and register it to extension 200 in order to prevent any additional call divert charges. I guess you would also need to set a divert to one of the other extensions or buy a call group (£1 +VAT per month) and divert to all of them if nobody answers on the mobile phone.

You can trial there service for free for 30 days too: Voipfone 30 Day Free Trial

Prices: https://www.voipfone.co.uk/prices_new.php

Total cost after trial, £9.00 (+VAT) per month (plus call charges - add another £1 if you require a call group).

At $6 (Roughly £4.74) a month, no thank you. That's very expensive considering the average cost for a UK phone number is around the £2 per month mark. You also charge to by the minute ($0.022) when receiving incoming calls? :scream:

I do know that it's been a year but the topic is serious and something more people should know. Take it from me I know all about these services. I have tried so many of them and so many were still "Robbing me" of my money, it's like there was no difference in paying for roaming charges or using a special service! You see I work at somewhat of a small company but we have to deal with a lot of customers. It happens so that I can't stay in one location in my field of work I have to travel while I stay in close contact with the customers and my employees. Obviously, we are most of the time in different countries. My wallet is sick and dry after paying for the roaming services and international phone calls charges. After using sendmycall I could forget about all that money waste. Only thing I had to do was buy a virtual phone number and pick up a free business phone system. I could now easily transfer incoming calls to my employees anywhere in the world. Just so you know besides just America they have a huge selection of other local phone numbers for different countries. There you have my answer. Tell me what you think?

Hello Richard,

A good solution for you would be yay.com !

We offer monthly subscription-based packages, so we do not tie our customer to an X number of months plan, if you are not happy you are free to leave, we let our quality speak for itself.

We provide UK number as well as international numbers, Spanish numbers are included in that list, so you would be sorted.
You can have the call routes personalized the way that you want, so it can ring all of those users at the same time. And if somebody is gonna go on a break they can simply become unavailable with a press of a short code and calls will not go through to that user.

We also offer the yay.com app that is available for smartphones and Desktop as well. This app is completely free, so no additional charges are applied.

You can transfer calls between users using our system, this should not be an issue. :sunglasses:

You can find our plans on https://www.yay.com/voice/ and if you have any questions you can call our friendly support team, there is always somebody to give you a helping hand.
