I have been using Vonage for a few years now and recently moved to a different flat. Lately I've been noticing I've been having voice delay problems sometimes. I subscribe to a 8 MB dedicated leased line from a local provider and when my husband is using internet or browsing at the same time I occasionally experience an interruption in service.

Can someone suggest a software/tool I can leave running and that will debug things over peak usage time and i can figure out if it's really about the speed or something else?

What you need to do is take advantage of QOS and prioritise all SIP traffic on your network. I do this myself so that when someone in the family is gaming and another streaming HD movies via Netflix I can still make and receive phone calls over SIP without issue. :)
