I am a really huge Port Forwarding noob, and I seem to have a router which makes it unnecessarily difficult to port forward certain ports required for games. So far, I have been using my neighbours' Wi-Fi connection, which has all the ports forwarded (or so it seems), but now I want to take this in my hands and try to fix it.

However, it seems that I have a few issues with it. In outbound, I enter the port I want to open, correct? But what about inbound port? What do I put in there?

Also, if I don't have a static IP, what do I put in the IP box?

I'm confused. Are you using your neighbours wifi or your own router?

Regardless, you will need a static local IP address to make port forwarding work.

What games are you referring to? You shouldn't have to touch port forwarding at all to play most games. Certain ports need to be open in your firewall for some games, but that isn't port forwarding at all. You need a static ip to use port forwarding anyhow.

Titanfall and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. I didn't really try for Advanced Warfare, since the game is already dead on PC, sadly, but Titanfall cannot connect to any data center if I am on my router's Wi-Fi connection. If I plug the Ethernet cable in directly, it works... kinda, it only finds CERTAIN data centers (such as South America and Japan, which is strange, because I live in Eastern Europe). On my neighbours' Wi-Fi, all games work flawlessly.

I DID open the ports in the firewall, but it still won't work, and not even Origin (the service hosting Titanfall) tier 2 (highest for them, I think) specialists couldn't solve my problem.

After viewing your other post about connectivity from your bathroom I'm going to advice resetting your router to factory defaults. If that doesn't help maybe replacing it would be a good idea. At first it sounded like a firewall issue but you have this issue from more than one device correct? Maybe you should ask your neighbor what kind of router he or she is using. :P

Yeah, the firewall problem is happening on my laptop, but the bathroom one is happening with my smartphone. Sure, I haven't checked whether or not it's my smartphone's fault, but I really am tempted to "upgrade" from my cheap router to a better one. I really thought on more than one occasion of asking my neighbors about their router, as they are really good family friends with us, but it would come off as awkward, and they'd probably catch on to me using their Wi-Fi, so I think I could do some research on my own.
